For Sale by original owner is a 2002 Superformance MKIII Shelby Cobra with only 2, 739 miles. It is chassis number SPO-1366. Superformance is the only replica builder to be endorsed and licensed by Carroll Shelby. This car can even be placed in the Shelby registry. This factory built beauty is finished in Galaxy Blue with Wimbledon White stripes and black leather interior. This car is equipped with true Smith's gauges, Moto-Lita wood steering wheel, glove box, polished stainless steel roll bar and roadster bumpers, true aluminum knock-off wheels, silver ceramic coated side pipes, Wilwood brakes, Bilstein shocks and many factory upgrades implemented in 2002.
The Factory soft top, side curtains and tonneau cover were kept in storage and never put on car. A brand new (in box) Superformance car cover is included along with extra parts and accessories.
Under the hood is a custom 351 Windsor engine, built by Eric Hinderberger of Performance Engineering in Hamilton, Ohio. Dyno verified at 471 Horsepower. The components utilized include: Scat crankshaft, Speed Pro pistons and connecting rods, Comp Cams camshaft, Air Flow Research aluminium cylinder heads, Edelbrock powder coated intake manifold, 750CFM Speed Demon Carburetor, MSD billet distributor, MSD ignition with REV limiter, Holley electric fuel pump, stainless steel surge tank, and a long list of other high quality parts and options too numerous to list.
The Transmission is a Tremec 3550 5-Speed mated to a Ford 8.8-inch IRS with 3.73 gears.
The owner's manual, dyno sheets and a binder full of documents come with the car. Also included are many photos of the rolling chassis as received from the factory, dealer prep work, engine build and engine on dyno.
This car has been garage kept since new and never driven in bad weather. Must be seen to appreciate the stunning 1960's-era Galaxy Blue paint utilized on the original Shelby Cobras.
Please note the following condition the left side pipe coating is flaking in front of the muffler.
