Up for Auction, 1967 Shelby Cobra This is not a KIT CAR. This is also not just any replica car. This is considered to be one of the most accurate Cobra Replica's ever produced. Built by Contemporary Classics in their manufacturing facility this replica not only duplicates the legendary look of an original Cobra but also its incredible raw feeling. This fine specimen features a 550 HP 427 Ford FE Side Oiler block with Dove aluminum heads and valve train, a custom ground flat tappet cam and a dual quad Holman Moody intake topped with 2 Holley 550 cfm mechanical secondary carbs. The engine is backed by a Richmond 4+1 street 5 Speed Transmission, 2.88 gears in the rear and a fully independant rear suspension with inboard disc brakes. This is a 4 round tube chassis utilizing a torsion bar front suspension and dual coil over shocks in the rear. At 2, 500 lbs the power to weight ratio is unreal!!! Power gets transfered to the ground via American Racing 17 wheels with Michelin Pilot 335/35 ZR 17 tires in the rear and 275/40 ZR 17 tires in the front. Needless to say the vehicle handles like its on rails!!! Rounding out the package are original Smiths guages and leather seats.
Engine internals: Dove 427 Cast iron block with modified oil pasages. Callais Racing Crank with Brooks Steel Rods. 10-3/4:1 compression JE pistons, custom ground mechanical cam with gear drive, Dove aluminum heads and valve train, Holman Moody dual quad intake with 2 Holley 550 cfm mechanical secondary carbs. Barry Grant BG280 electric fuel pump with dual mode switch.
