With deep regret, I'm offering up this genuine Shelby to its next custodian. I'm not a dealer and this is not a quick flip--I've owned, enjoyed, and improved this vehicle over the course of six years. This is a fully documented car, has been owned exclusively by SAAC members and listed in the Shelby Registry since the early days of the club. The car has less than 68, 000 original miles--it was raced at SAAC conventions for many years (and driven to them, not trailered!), but never pressed into service on a daily basis. It has been garage-kept all its life, and it shows. The '68 GT350 was the most under-powered of all the early Shelbys, but guess what--there's an app for that! Start with a seasoned C8OE 302 block, overbore it .040, stuff it with an Eagle crank, Scat rods, and a lumpy Comp cam. Add screw-in rocker studs and a bit of port & polish magic to the stock C8OE heads, and the pathetic factory horsepower rating disappears in the rear view mirror...The engine is fresh, runs a 715 cfm LeMans Holley and K-code dual-point distributor. The exhaust is true duals through 1967 Shelby hi-po manifolds. The vintage Lakewood scattershield and Hurst shifter have been part of the package for decades. This Shelby is fully functional, ready to go or show. We've been over it from stem to stern--not a restoration per se, more like sympathetic repairs in line with its survivor status. I could write reams of descriptive information here, but I won't! Just ask anything you need to know. This Shelby should go to the end user, not a flipper. Buy it because its on your bucket list, or because your Uncle Fred had one back in the day. Buy it because you appreciate its historical significance, or because you just can't get the same raw visceral thrill from any new car. Buy it because its a solid value, instead of spending silly amounts of money on a clone. For the buy-it-now price I'll include my stash of Shelby collectibles and spare parts, otherwise you'll find those later on eBay. And I can wait for the right buyer--we'll just be out there carving canyons until you show up. .
