1949 Studebaker Truck. A California (San Diego) truck with current CA registration and 4T NINR custom plates. Original brakes, steering & suspension, but with the following upgrades:
Ford 302 V8
New Ford 302 automatic
Cadillac rear axle w/ highway gearing
12 Volt alternator
Chevy tilt column
Nicer than stock interior w/ seatbelts for 3 people.
16 rims with nice tires.
She starts right up & has very good power. Runs cool, quiet, & the transmission shifts properly. Trans is new from Rapid Trans in La Mesa. Very straight body with great recent paint in the Transtar style. The white is more of an Antique Cream than a bright white. It sets off the burgundy red quite nicely. She is a very attractive truck and pleasant to drive.
The 4 issues are: Aftermarket gas gauge is erratic. Occasional gas smell (filler clamp?) Radio lights up but no sound. Rust bubble smaller than a Skittle on LF of hood. (see penny pic)
Amazingly, That's the only rust on the vehicle!
I took pics & video BEFORE paint (see the one in this ad) to show how straight & rust-free this truck is. I can send these on request. You can stick a magnet anywhere on the body. No filler anywhere except in a couple rock-dents in the bed. But viewed from underneath is easily seen as only dents.
