Studebaker Champion (1949)
for sale
Price: US $1,200.00
Price: US $1,200.00
I bought this car from a mechanic in his seventies who was retiring in a little town in Central Florida. He has owned this car for several years and has had it on the side of his mechanic shop that specializes in Studebakers and other classics, but mainly Studes.
There is no title, bill of sale only.
The car still runs!
A little gas in the carb and a battery and it will start up easy. I have not engage the transmission to see how well it drives because he said the brake cable isn't connected. The mechanic I bought it from drove it around the block about 2 years ago and said it drives good, but there's no brakes. The trunk floor is rusted through as well as the gas tank, so to run it you have to use an alternative supply container. All of the chrome is there except for the back trim on the trunk lid, and part of the back bumper. The cover of the gas cap is missing. The interior is all gone and the seats are stripped down to the springs. All the door and window hardware is intact. All 4 doors open and close correctly and lock correctly. I have a door key for it but no ignition key. The front two panels of glass and the back two panels of glass are all intact. So is the passenger side glass in front, all the others are cracked but are together and not brittle. The floors are rusted out in various spots but it is not the worst I've ever seen. The body of this car is free of dents in most 99% of its surface area, can see a bondo spot on the back right fender above the taillight. There are small rusted through spots throughout the body on the fenders and creases. I will take closer pics and or video upon request!
This is going to be for local pickup only, if you are outside or in the state of Florida and wish to have this vehicle transported, negotiations on that are available.
I towed this car home with a dolly, the trip was smooth.
