For sale or trade is my 1955 Studebaker Champion proudly showing off her new midnight blue party dress! She has a 259 V-8 engine on which I had the seals and gaskets replaced when I got her last year. I am told this was not the standard engine for the 55 Champion; they came with a flat head six cylinder motor but the Commander and President models had this option. The wheels, tires, battery, regulator, fuel pump, carpet, headliner and interior door panels were all replaced last year after she was painted. No rust or rot in the car that we could find; floor boards, rockers, fenders, trunk are all in good shape. The previous owners had removed and shaved the rear door handles but the doors will open from the inside rear. They also put the fuel cell in the trunk; I guess to make her look more like a coupe. Original manual steering and drum brakes ( new cylinders in 2014). Her original transmission was manual but now she has an automatic transmission with the 1955 shift pattern (P, N, D, L, R) on the column. She runs strong and cruises sweetly. I have a below market reserve so don't be afraid to bid if this car catches your interest at all! You can get into the classic 1955 market with this car for under $4, 000!!!
