Recently took this very desirable and difficult to find 1950 Studebaker convertible in trade. It is one of the few I have ever seen with an automatic transmission. We were told that the engine and transmission have been rebuilt, however we do not have documentation to support that. Speedometer shows 65, 680.
It starts right up, runs smoothly, quiet, drives, shifts and stops well. Over all it is very straight. Like so many of these models, the floors rocker panels, right door bottom and trunk floor have seen better days and will need to be replaced. New floors and panels are readily available. The canvas top is worn out, but the convertible frame is in excellent shape and works well. The glass looks good all around and the windows roll up and down easily, except for the passenger door.
We have not checked the radio, wipers, or lights. This is a very worthy car to restore and we have been very tempted to keep it, however business needs are pressing us to at least give you a chance to own it. You already know what a rare find it is. The last two pictures were added to give you an idea of how this old girl could be transformed.
