This is a nicely kept 1962 Studebaker Hawk GT. A California car, it’s always been garaged, well maintained, and never driven in snow. It’s has no rust and the underneath is very clean. It doesn’t leak any fluids, doesn’t smoke, no exhaust leaks, and stops better than any drum brake car I’ve driven. There are no rattles or shaking, even at 70 MPH.
It still retains its original 289 Studebaker full-flow engine, mated to a 4-speed transmission, and Carter 4-BBL carburetor - cruises nicely down the highway.
The interior upholstery, dash, gauges headliner, chrome and stainless are in excellent condition. Tires are fairly new Michelins. Brakes are new. Electrical works. Radio does not work. Haven’t looked at it, except I did notice there’s no speaker in the dash. The tachometer doesn’t work either, but I am trying to get an NOS one from a Studebaker guy – I should know in a couple of days. This car tends to get a LOT of attention – be prepared to spend an hour extra at least whenever you stop somewhere!
