Most of the last Studebakers built were of this configuration. V8-259, 3 spd. with Borg=Warner overdrive. I bought the car at auction in about 1998 with so many others that I had intended to restore or at least play with. Now the years have crept up on me and I probably don't have enough time left to play with all my toys. I have bought a chrome grille shell for it and all the rest of that front damage is straightenable. The interior is not beautiful but is serviceable except for the headliner. I have never tried to run the engine but so many of those engines can be operated successfully for years with just a ring and valve job. As a Studebaker dealer in 1960/61 we learned that most things that broke on 'em could be repaired with hardware store items. Hardware stores [and Studes], sadly have become pretty archaic. Buy this for a fun and cheap project. It has an open Texas title certificate. Full set of Studebaker wheel covers included.
