Description:

Here is the best way to start your very own Rat Rod truck!! This has so many hours of welding, fabricating, thinking, buying, cutting, etc. ..!! I have saved you a ton of time. This truck was sold to me with a bill of sale, and I now have a title and tags for the truck that will save you time and money and get you on the road soon!
I will list as much as I can think of at this time. .
This is a 54 and 51 put together with a 47 front axle to take advantage of the cool brake kit that they make for 80's chevy caprice disc brakes. I have purchased brand new rotors, calipers, and a power brakes kit that includes the brake pedal that mounts to the firewall, the booster and the dual brake master cylinder. The only thing left to buy is the bracket that mounts the calipers to the 47 axle. I can get you that info as to where to purchase this. The front axle has been moved forward and the steering box moved to accommodate.
The cab has been channeled (the very time consuming process of lowering the cab onto the frame and welding cross members to the sides of the body. The box has also been channeled to match the cab and left enough room for the aluminum 12 gallon gas tank with sending unit to mount underneath the box. The tailgate functions like factory. I have not put in the floor boards in the box or the cab. This is personal preference to the new rat rod owner, where you can get creative! Most use wood with metal underneath for heat. You can use whatever you want. Thats the fun of a rat rod.
The engine mounts have been relocated forward to be able to use the small block 400 chevy motor, which came out of a running 80's chevy Blazer. The engine is stock but good running. I don't have it running now because I don't have the ignition wiring kit bought yet. This kit with 12 fuses will run you about $150 with a key switch.
The transmission is a th350 that is in good working order as well. Nothing fancy here.
The rear end that is currently in the truck is a chevy 10 bolt. .However, I have purchased an 8.8 ford Posi 3.73 rear end with disc brakes and the chevy wheel spacer converters. This will go to the buyer. This is a great hot rod rear end that is replacing the hard to find 12 bolt posi and the very pricey ford 9 inch. The width is perfect for the truck/ wheel combination.
The tires are almost new!! They are great radials, wider in the rear of course.
The wheels are decent, but perfect for a rat rod. They are chrome smoothies that fit the truck perfectly.
I purchased all 4 new shocks. Monroe.
This has a brand new aluminum radiator and an original Model T Ford radiator shroud! I also spent some money on some awesome big and deep headlight buckets that look awesome! They are mounted with a chain mount. They need the bulbs and wiring.
I have added a few custom touches that you can leave or take. I took an old Honda gas tank and cut and welded in some down tubes for the air cleaner housing. this will need to be finished if you like it. I have some studebaker emblems that go on the side of the old motorcycle tank as well.
If you start to add up some of the money in parts alone, you will see that i am selling this way to cheap. I just lost interest when we bought a couple motorcycles this year. Add in the hours and hours of labor, and the cost of the truck itself and you will see the value in this purchase.
Rat Rodding is becoming extremely popular and would be a blast to travel from show to show. It's not a sports car, or even a hot rod. It's a rat rod. .. a rat rod is something you make your own. Touches like the beer bottle opener that mounts above the old gas filler hole, are things that you can be creative with yourself as you go. The hard work is done...it's time to customize!!
Don't be afraid to call with any questions... I'll do my best to answer. I can tell you now that my buy it now price is very reasonable! Don't let this one go! Once the reserve price is met, the buy it now option goes away and you may very well pay more. I am basing the buy it now on parts costs alone. Labor is not included. Please consider the hours and hours that you will have in a project like this to just get it where i have it! No joke. . these projects take time and lots of money to get where this one is.
Good luck bidding and God bless you in your life's journeys.
If i left something out i will edit this ad...
