1963 Studebaker

Studebaker (1963)
for sale

Price: US $15,500.00

Description:

Please see the cover of TURNING WHEELS, the monthly studebaker magazine for a view that will convince you that this car is what a Studebaker Hawk should look like. Original color was champagne gold, (not enough pizzazz!) so it was repainted this GM clear coat/brilliant red. It is true I have never felt the need to do anything to this engine or drivetrain, including never messing with the points. The front brakes were studebaker discs, but are now Turner aftermarket. Power booster was eliminated too. It has an electric fuel pump to facilitate starting after sitting for long periods with the crappy gas we are served. Tires are showing some wear but useable as is. Tach is not working, it hasn't since I got it, but only because the harness is missing. The clock does works intermittently. All the gauges function and oil pressure is great, temp never has given trouble, alternator works well. It drives excellently, a huge change over the years from the original 53. A new door will be supplied to new owner I have two other classics, and will whittle down to just one. Please refer questions to Charles, 231 245 1255

“origianl sale to Oakland CA , Jet Thrust column shift minimal rust as shown in pic's. very straight red with red and white interior. Wire wheels cover car on Turning wheels July '94. This car has the right stance and has true distinction. Most dependable "old car" I have ever owned, always starts well, engine never opened up; perhaps you'd like to redo valve seals as it smokes a bit on start-up. Shift is very solid, and engine is strong. Yes, there is a difference between the run of the mill 289's and a jet thrust 289. I enjoy the car very much but I have owned it over 25 years and it is time to down size. I bought this car and its sister from a friend in CA. The other was a 4 speed, also red. They were owned by a gentleman who liked studes and Mercedes autos. I think he and his wife , being German had something to do with it? The paint has held up really well and still impresses with the straight body. It has a couple spots of rust raising the paint, lower front fender and door.”
