This Subaru has blown its last head gasket with me. It does not run. I replaced the first head gasket at 160, 000 miles. The second head gasket went at 230, 000 miles. It was far from home when it blew the second head gasket at an incompetent shop that was unable to diagnose it properly leading to the old repair method of replace parts till you find whats wrong with it method. As a result of their incompetence they replaced every cooling component in the engine compartment, only to find in the end it was another broken head gasket and or cracked head. At this point with this amount of miles it's only logical to put a new short block and heads in this vehicle, to go along with the other new parts and get another 230, 000 miles out of it. SALE IS - AS IN CONDITION. NO RETURNS. PURCHASER MUST PICK UP VEHICLE.
As this was my sons away from home college car I kept it in good working order. Besides all the new cooling parts, both the front and rear suspension had a lot of parts replaced including C/V joints, recent brake job, 4 new snow tires that had at most 100 miles on them when the head gasket went. A recent new battery. The A/C system was overhauled last summer.
I'm looking to re - coup what I recently put into it. The first $2000. takes it.
