History
I bought this car with very light front end
damage (has Good Clean Alabama Title). The AutoCheck
History shows the car has a REBUILT/SALVAGE title, but after I had the car
inspected and the title came in, it does not show SALVAGE/REBUILT anywhere on
it. Also, if you check the title number that I have for it against the records, you will see it shows good. I can send a picture of the title I have for it if
someone is interested in it. I had a 01 Forester that was the same color, but
the motor went bad (288k). I swapped over the hood, bumper cover, headlights, grill, condenser, and radiator (radiator was replaced when I bought it in
2012). You may/may not be able to see in the pictures, but the driver side rear
door and rear quarter and the passenger side rear door had been repainted
before I acquired the car. They are just a slight shade off. It does not stand
out in person, but if you look really hard at the car you can see it, or if you
have a keen eye for detail you will notice it. As you can see from the
pictures, it is hard to notice, but it is there.
Current
Driving Condition
Currently the car is an excellent
running/driving vehicle. It is not my main car, but I have driven it off and on
over the past 7 months with no issues. I live about 30 miles across town from
work, so daily it will get about 70 miles or so on it. The only thing that does
not work is the cruise control. I replaced the cruise control ECU and the
cruise unit under the hood, but it still does not work. I did not change the
cruise control switch on the steering wheel. It has never worked since I have
owned the car, and I am not a big cruise user, so it
has never bothered me. The tires are all matched, but will need to be replaced
in the next few months because they are low on tread. All lights (fog) work
fine, as well as all wipers, washer, etc.
Interior
The interior is SUPER clean on this car. Amazing
it is 14 years old and the seats still have that new seat feeling. Everything
works fine in the interior except for the clock (Good Luck finding a Forester
that is over 10 years old that the clock still works). The rear hatch and
windows are tinted, and there are several scratches/nicks in the tint. There
are a few marks in the headliner, but overall for its age, it is in great
condition.
Overall this is an excellent car. It is 14
years old so it does have a few dings and scratches here and there, but overall
it is in great shape for its age. It is an extra vehicle for me, and I need the
extra cash right now more than I need an extra vehicle. That is the ONLY reason
I am selling it. If something was not covered here or you need more info, please message me. Thanks!!!
