The Pros:
For sale is a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan. The color is the rare Crystal Gray Metallic. This is a one-owner car with just shy of 126, 000 miles. Timing belt and water pump was done around 2011.
This is the last model year of the 2.0 liter turbocharged motor with a 5 speed manual transmission.

For an 11 year old car, the interior is in great shape. A few scratches over the more traveled areas, and the headliner has some grime here and there. A small divot in one of the door panels. I’m nitpicking at this point...

The Cons:
This car has been in 2 accidents in the late 2000s. Repaired both times, no airbag deployment. Now that many years have passed, you can see some cosmetic evidence of this has reemerged (chip in some body filler on right-rear wheel-well covered with tape, damaged bracket on headlight). See pictures. Apart from that, for an 11 year old car, the body is in very decent shape, but does have its routine scratches and dings here and there.
The Greddy Header is a few years old now and recently blew a leak in one of the flex joints, which you can certainly hear. I have not replaced the header, as I do not know what the buyers wishes might be relative to this. Consider the need for this repair when placing your bid.
The AC blows cold, however the belt does chirp as the compressor cycles on and off. I believe this is due to the Perrin crank-pulley.
The steering wheel surround is roughed up from having mounted an air/fuel gauge next to the turbo gauge years ago. The air/fuel gauge is no longer there, so there is evidence of the bracket mounting. Trunk release from the cockpit does not work, you have to access trunk using the key.
The current exhaust modifications on this car WILL impede it from passing emissions inspections in the more picky states. Please know your state's inspection process (if any) before bidding. The OEM up-pipe (with cat) and OEM mid-pipe is included in the sale, along with a few other parts. Unfortunately I do not have the OEM exhaust manifold or down pipe (which includes a cat). Replacement performance downpipes with cats are available online starting around the $200 range.
In Summary:
Perhaps most remarkable, this car has embodied the reliability that you would expect from any Subaru. The powertrain is solid and runs strong and without hesitation. If you are looking for a budget friendly way to get some speed, without the cost and paranoia that comes with owning a brand new or cosmetically pristine automobile, look no further.
Opening bid is at only $6, 100 with no reserve because of the accident history and repair work necessary on the exhaust system.
This WRX has been great to me, and I am sad to see it go. I am selling to make room in the garage and in the budget for an old family project car that I recently reacquired.
