2002 Subaru Impreza

Subaru Impreza (2002)
for sale

Price: US $5,000.00

Description:

My name is Jeremy and I'm offering my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX sportwagon for sale.
Basics:
107, 868 miles (this will increase slightly as I drive the car about 1/week)
Clear Texas title (lien with USAA bank)
All major service completed (timing belt, water pump, A/C service, valve cover gaskets, brakes)
5sp manual transmission
This is my third WRX sportwagon, but the first 'bugeye' that I've owned. I purchased the car in March of this year from a photographer in Austin, TX making me the 3rd owner. He owned the car from around 60k miles until I purchased it with around 104k. I have since decided to sell the WRX and my E39 wagon to make room for an early Japanese classic. During my short ownership I have invested over $1400 to ensure the car is in solid mechanical shape and it should be ready for another 100k miles.
Exterior
The Midnight Black Pearl paint is in good condition, but does show signs of use as would be expected with age and mileage such as rock chips, etc. Areas of note include minor scuffs on the driver side rear bumper, clear coat fading on the hatch spoiler (no clear coat damage anywhere else), and a dime-sized spot of surface rust caused by a punk kid with a BB gun. No other rust is present on the vehicle. The body is straight with the exception of a dent on the rear hatch and another beneath the passenger side mirror. It also looks like something small but heavy was set on the roof above the rear hatch. These areas should be easily addressed with PDR as there are no creases.
The prior owner was a photographer and used the car to transport his gear which explains the minor dents. Overall though, the paint shines nicely and the Midnight Black Pearl paint does a good job of hiding minor imperfections. All photos were taken this week and represent the true condition of the Subaru; I have not been edited them in any way. I would give the exterior condition an 8 of 10.
Interior
The interior is in very good condition. All carpeting is clean and free of stains, and I am including a new set of Subaru OEM gray floor mats as well as the original floor mats which are in average condition. The seats do not have any tears or stains and these earlier generation WRX seats are more desirable for their improved side bolsters. The dash has no cracks and all plastics have been conditioned with 303 Aerospace Protectant. Previous owner installed a rear cupholder from a Subaru Legacy (I think). A new shift knob was also installed, but the OEM knob is included. Typical Subaru rattles, although I did succeed in silencing quite a few. All windows have been tinted. Everything works perfectly-A/C, lights, cruise control, factory 6-disc CD player, power windows & locks. Overall, 9 of 10 for the interior.
Mechanical
As stated, there are no engine modifications to this car, however there have been many recent maintenance items addressed. These include:
48k miles (Ken's Auto Repair- Tomball, TX)
Clutch replacement
Flywheel resurfaced
A/C compressor replaced
A/C serviced
104k miles (Juke Automotive- Austin, TX)
Timing belt and tensioner replaced
Water pump replaced
Power steering flush
Coolant replacement
A/C sender valve and freon replaced
O2 sensor replaced
105k miles (serviced by me)
Transmission fluid replacement with Uncle Scotty's cocktail (used in all of my past Subarus)
Rebuilt driver front brake caliper with Subaru OEM kit
Front brake rotors replaced
Front brake pads installed (Hawk HPS)
Rear brake pads included, but not installed (Hawk HPS)
105, 745 miles (North Park Subaru at Dominion- San Antonio, TX)
Valve cover gaskets (left & right) replaced
A/C idler pulley replaced
PCV hose replaced
I have receipts for all work and/or parts listed above. Subaru vehicles are known for their reliability and this example is no exception. You should have zero issues driving the car for another 100k miles with routine maintenance. Before deciding to sell the car, my only other plans were to address the shifter bushings (shifts fine into every gear, just a little sloppy) and to re-grease the caliper slide pins. I may get to the slide pins before the sale, but no guarantees.
'Vehicle is sold AS-IS, with no warranties expressed or implied.
Miscellaneous
The car came with a few suspension upgrades which really add to the enjoyment of the car. Whiteline strut tower braces, front and rear, along with upgraded Whitleine swaybars in the front and rear were installed. This Subaru has the best turn-in of the three that I have owned, including my '04 which had a Koni shock and RCE spring setup. All other suspension components on this WRX are OEM and I do have the original swaybars which will be included.
A $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal is due within 48hrs of auction close.
