I am selling a 2000 legacy GT in which a stock 270 hp JDM 2L Twin Turbo has been installed The motor has about 78k on it and the body 177k. Most of the suspension has been replaced with upgraded parts, shocks, brakes and rotors. Anti sway bars front and rear. I am selling this car because I got into a project on upgrading the motor to a single turbo and adding about 80hp or so. (this JDM motor with forged bottom end is good for 400hp before a rebuild is needed). The car has all new stainless exhaust but the stock down pipe started leaking soon after I got the car. I also found that I could not read the computer for any tuning. This and a few other things made me want to make the single turbo switch which is highly recommended with this motor.
It has the yellow injectors which are good for about 350hp with a common aftermarket sti turbo, WRX sti parts bolt right on without removing the motor and it just becomes a question of how big a turbo you want to put on it. When the waste gate started failing I made the leap and bought about 90% of the parts, 1200.00 to make the switch. (didn't decide on a tubo but was watching a few) This is when things fell apart. I started flying and building quad copters a few months ago and the turbo project died. I have been driving it up and down my driveway to keep it loose but my attention is now on flying not driving. Anyone interested in taking this project, I will throw in the 1200 in parts ie front inter cooler set, sti stainless high volume intake, stainless single turbo exhaust, Sti computer (plug and play), a step by step description on the upgrade process by someone who did one (by himself) just like it, with color pictures and a complete parts list. All stock sti compatible. Or for 1000 less I will keep the parts and one could replace or fix the waste gate and down pipe. The car is fun to drive and corners really flat. The sequential turbos stretch out the power band a lot. (the second one kicks in at about 4500. the first at 2500) Those who know what these cars can do will see the potential here.
