This has been a great mail car but it now needs another engine. I spent $2, 000 on it just before, (and some after), the head gasket blew, about Jan. 20. Included in that $2, 000 is a new battery, new transmission filter, and transmission mounts last year; new tires Sept. 22; Rack n Pinion Steering in November; exhaust work Jan.16; new water pump, timing belt, and tensioner Jan.23. The odometer reads just over 180k miles. I'm guessing; however, that there are probably about 200k more than that on the vehicle. The previous owner denied any tampering with the odometer, but observation tells me that there is more than the 180k showing. There are no major dents in the body; just normal scratches and wear and tear for a mail car, although I did keep a magnetic protector on the driver side. The car is in about the same condition as when I bought it in August 2009, except for a cracked windshield that I cracked on the third day after getting it. It does not obstruct the view; however, and has always passed inspection with no problem. It should be noted that, while the transmission is now working fine, it probably won't be long before it will need replacing. (During the last filter/fluid change, there were a few small pieces of metal in the pan.) I am selling because I am no longer able to carry the mail due to recent back surgery that replaced a bad disk and a diagnosis that I should avoid driving even after recovery because of three additional bad disks.
