This Outback was purchased by me from A&T Subaru in Pennsylvania in 2013, this car has been great and has gotten me safely across the country several times in the past 2 years. Unfortunately, there are several issues with it and I am ready to move on. There is a knock in the engine upon a cold start, which causes a lag in power but this goes away when the engine warms up to operating temperature. I have had my trusted Subaru mechanic look at this issue and he has recommended that it would be too costly to rebuild the engine, but that the vehicle will operate just fine without having the work done. This Outback also has a salvage title after an incident involving a deer in Colorado last year, the headlights have been replaced but there is still body damage on the front fender, passenger side door, and a small dent in the hood. Both the hood and passenger door are still fully functional. This car runs and drives excellently and I have just recently driven from Colorado down to Dallas, TX and back with no issues. I have since purchased a newer Outback and need to find a new home for this one. The Good:new timing beltnew water pumpnew front axle (passenger)new front rotorssolid head gasketsnew headlights, windshield wiperscold a/clow milesheated seats, windshield, mirrorspower windows, locks and cruise control
The Bad:cold knock in engine (most likely piston slap)check engine light comes on and off (knock sensor code)ABS light on, ABS system not functioning correctlyslight oil leak in front of the enginesalvage title
The Ugly:body damage on front passenger fenderdent on passenger doordented hooddriver's side door does not open with key, only passenger'smissing mudflap on rear driver's sidemiscellaneous dings and scratches I have truly loved this car and it has been dependable and never left me stranded. There is no issue with the head gaskets as is sometimes found in these vehicles and it has been checked regularly by a trusted Subaru mechanic. This vehicle is sold as-is and I have done my best to disclose any issues that I have come across. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and please see all photos for details. I am also able to take extra photos upon request.
