Subaru Outback Spec B (2005)
for sale
Price: US $200.00
Price: US $200.00
Complete 6 speed Spec B transmission, diff, axles and suspension. All purchased NEW from Subaru.
Car has been my daily driver for a little over 2 1/2 years. Oil is changed every 4 months as my commute is short so I never hit the mileage intervals.
Reason For Selling = I've ordered a new car.
Engine
2 months after purchasing I converted to a VF52(purchased NEW from Subaru), AVO top mount and Cobb DP. Tuned by Clark Turner via AP for 93 OCT. Very nice manners on the street and great torque. The old turbo was in fine shape when removed and appeared to be the original. The banjo bolt screen was removed when the new turbo was installed.
Radiator and hoses were replaced proactively at 82, 000 miles with new genuine Subaru parts.
90k service just completed along with timing belt, tensioner, idlers and water pump. All Subaru parts.
Transmission
At 78, 000 miles I converted to the Spec B 6 speed. Everything needed for the swap was purchased NEW from Subaru and this included Trans, R180 diff, axles, driveshaft, SPT shifter, rear trailing arms/hubs, shift knob, shift boot and console cover. Unfortunately the only console available anymore has the SI Drive badge but it's a minor flaw.
Suspension
Bilstein BTS-5056J kit purchased from Japan. Installed just before the trans swap. At the same time I upgraded to Spec B front A arms. New fasteners were used wherever possible. Rear upper links are also Spec B. The lower lateral links were also replaced as well as the adjuster bolts. I also added an AVO rear sway bar. I compare the ride to that of an 06-07 WRX wagon.
Wheels are late model Outback that I purchased from a refinisher on Ebay. Tires are stock size Michelin Pilot AS3s that measure 7/32. Always rotated every other oil change.
Brakes are Legacy GT at all four corners using Subaru pads and rotors.
Interior is stock other than an STI gauge package which I also installed. I recently replaced the E brake boot, handle and cup holder cover as the E brake leather was looking tired and the console was delaminating.
After owning 1 XT before I wanted to build one exactly the way I wanted it and this is what it ended up as. I feel it is as close to a factory Spec B wagon that you could get. It's a phenomenal daily driver and is quite a sleeper. It has NO rust whatsoever even though it was in West Virginia for a short time. If interested I would be glad to have a phone conversation and answer any questions you may have. If you would like to arrange an inspection of some sort I am happy to work with you but the car needs nothing and I am confident of that. Comes with a clean Carfax. The car has a few scratches and dings that reflect it's use but panels are all original as is paint. I have a total of 58 pictures available which I can provide a link to via message through ebay.
