Description:

The time has come to sell and move on
from our current project that we have built
over the course of the last two years. This
2009 Subaru WRX is truly one of a kind.
From the complete color change, to the
custom wide body quarter panels and fenders, this is a genuine, handcrafted machine that can be a show winner, race car, or daily driver. Being such a versatile build that can easily go in any direction, it will be entirely up to it’s next owner where this car will take them.

In order to fully appreciate this Subaru, it is key to have a little background on the car and exactly how we made a build this
intense, possible and affordable. The main
reason why you can have a car like this with such fine attention to detail, and
overall uniqueness is because it retains a
salvage title. More specifically, this car was built from two, separate donor cars, that will be explained in more detail below.

The 2009 WRX donor vehicle was in a
rollover accident and, in the end, all that was used for the build was the motor, interior, and wiring harness.

The 2009 Impreza was in a front-end
collision, resulting in a damaged but
repairable radiator support and broken timing belt. (Which in turn bent the valves in the heads of the engine that was left unused.)

In the end, the two donor cars combined to create an ideal beginning for this build: a clean shell that we could repaint to factory specs and then a WRX motor that could be transferred during the swapping process.

Once underway and completely
disassembled, it came the time to choose a
color and paint the shell. After much
deliberation, it was decided to go with
PPG paint code 0077, namely known as
“Lamborghini Verde Ithaca.” The color is a
vibrant, lime green that when the sunlight
hits it, the gold pearl really stands out and
makes it pop. It is a color that can only be
fully appreciated when viewed in person.
There are very few, if any, cars out there that have undergone a color change as extensive as we did with this build.
The paint used for the entire build, PPG
Envirobase, is the highest quality in the
world; PPG is used by 8 of 10 automobile
manufacturers, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati. If someone was
willing to undertake such an extreme color
change for a consumer, it would cost well
over $11, 000.
The entire swap was absolutely straight forward (no modifications necessary) and it only took a crew of four men two full days to
accomplish.

After the swap was accomplished, we
began drawing up our plans and obtaining all of the parts we would need to finish the build (see below for a complete list.)
We wanted to fit much wider wheels and tires and still have maximum performance, so the only way to achieve this was to cut, stretch, and fill the quarter panels and fenders: 1” wider on each corner to be exact. The custom flares are all hand-fabricated out of sheet metal.

Upon completion of the build, we ran the southern California car show scene for two years. There wasn’t a show we attended that the build didn’t take home an award, more importantly the build never placed lower than second. These accolades speak volumes about the genuine quality and attention to
detail obtained within this build.
