Awesome Tesla Model S 60!
First off, let me start by stating that I believe in full-disclosure and open and honest communication. You are not getting a flawless Model S, but you are getting one hell of a deal!
I purchased this car in non-running condition from an Insurance Auction for my wife as a project because it was the best way we could easily afford a second Tesla (Mine was making her Jealous!). It had one owner before us in Houston, TX where it was involved in a minor flood (only got wet up to the carpet), so I was able to restore her and she now purrs again! I'm an accomplished Electrical Engineer, and a perfectionist, so I restored this Model S with loving care because it was for the love of my life! She's now moved to another Tesla I recently restored, so we're now selling this one so it can find a new loving home. It was her daily driver for about four months and about 5, 700 miles and there has been no problems on her 3-4 hour (!) daily commute in (horrible) Bay Area traffic. I've been a long time Electric Vehicle fan and activist, have even built my own EVs. My day job is coming up with ways to help others enjoy their electric vehicles! (Google Electric True Believers to see the article the New York Times did on me 5 years ago.) This is the second flooded Tesla I've saved from the crusher. Please check my rating and feedback, and you can find my contributions all over the Tesla Motors Club forum. (Handle is Ingineer) I think the Model S is hands down the best car on the market!
She came to me with a few minor issues here and there as you'd expect for a 2013, and some minor cosmetic issues on the back seat leather, right rocker, the right fender, and the air-dam on the front from the auction lot's forklift. Nothing most people would find noticeable though (see pictures), and could be repaired easily by any body shop. (Sadly, I don't have those skills!) Drives smooth and quiet, as you'd expect from a Model S. Battery pack is in excellent shape with reported 198 amp-hour capacity (see picture of diagnostic screen). *I am so confident in the condition of this car that I will offer the buyer a powertrain warranty for 3 months (90 days) from date of purchase. If anything prevents the car from driving, I will repair it quickly and at my cost, provided you drop off and pick-up the car at my Berkeley location. I will also be happy to assist in the future should you ever need anything for the car. (I know these cars inside and out and can diagnose them just like Tesla technicians can.) How many people selling you a used car will do this for you?!?
Because this car is salvage-titled, you are getting an awesome deal! On average a car with these options and in this condition would easily go for $15, 000 - $20, 000 more. A restored salvage titled car is the easiest way for us Tesla fans to get into the best car made without breaking the bank!
Supercharging, Tinted Windows, 3G Internet access with built-in browser, WiFi, Bluetooth, Navigation with Google Maps, Voice Activation, Streaming Radio, Homelink, Remote Access, Keyless Entry, and running latest software (2.10.71). Every feature and system on this car is working perfectly.
The Tesla Model S is the safest car in production, and also enjoys the lowest operating costs and highest resale value of any car in it's class.
If you have children, I can re-install the original 3rd row rear-facing child seats for $500. I removed these for extra storage in the trunk because we don't have children.
