New Main Battery:
The main battery is actually less than a year old*.
Tesla replaced the main 85 kWh lithium-ion battery AND the auxiliary 12Vnormal car battery due to a malfunction with a power switch.
The power switch malfunction technically had nothing to do with the main battery or the auxiliary batteries, but Tesla--like any other time I've had an issue--has replaced/repaired/addressed any concerns promptly and without charge.
*New main 85 kWh lithium-ion battery AND the auxiliary 12V battery were installed at the time odometer was at 13, 700 (approximation).
After almost two years of wonderful memories, we've decided to put our 2013 Tesla Model S85 on the market. To be sure, it was a hard decision because I love the car like a third child (my wife also reminds me that it would be illegal to sell our son or daughter). No accidents:
The responsiveness and power of the car has gotten me out of a few potential accidents. Windshield and panoramic roof glass replaced recently because of damage caused by a rock (kicked up by a truck, probably) on a road trip (1/2-way up the I-5 grapevine). All work was performed by Tesla using genuine Tesla parts.
