This Tesla Roadster 2.0 Sport is VIN #502, the very first 2.0 Sport model produced by Tesla.
It was kept by Tesla and used for various promotional and marketing purposes until it was sold into private hands. If you google tesla roadster, you will see this actual car in all the Tesla promotional media, articles, news, wikipedia, etc.
Before sale into private hands, it underwent a complete factory reconditioning, including complete battery pack reconditioning, installing of a brand new motor, new seats and carpets.
What makes this roadster even more rare, is it comes with Tesla's Full Warranty (Tesla's Extended Service Agreement (ESA) and Tesla's Battery Extended Service Agreement (BESA) through August 2017.
Today it has 39, 000 miles on it, having been my weekend car to go to Napa on a nice day.
The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm purchasing a home and I need to free up some cash for a down payment.
This is a striking example of the Roadster, and is among the most fully equipped vehicles Tesla ever made since it was to be used for the company's own promotion, demonstration, and marketing appearances.
