I'm selling what may be the fastest 4Runner in the country. No one believes it until they look under the hood or challenge it to a race.
The build began with my rust free 4Runner that I've owned for the last 9 years. When the factory 3.0 breathed it's last breath, I made the decision to upgrade in a major way (sentimental attachment).
After much research I selected a GM factory LS3 all aluminum crate motor (430 HP 430 TQ) mated to a GM 4L65E tranny with Atlas 2 speed transfer case. This is GM's plug and play system with drive by wire throttle and all associated hardware. The entire drive train weighs 67 lbs. less than the factory set-up. This allows me to retain the stock suspension set-up. It rides and drives like a stock 4Runner.
Every system in this truck was rebuilt with factory parts, complete rebuild of front suspension, new leaf springs, all new front and rear brake components. Custom grill and lighting, full exterior roll cage, custom bumpers, fuel wheels with brand new BFGoodrich All Terrain TA's, wheel bearings, etc.
Interior extensively sound deadened with Road Kill durable vinyl floor covering, custom upholstered seats, custom center console, Dakota Digital Gauges, AC blows cold! JVC bluetooth stereo with back-up camera and navigation. Custom bulkhead. Hi lift jack set-up in rear, rear window switch in back for camping. Heavy sound deadening in rear area floors and walls.
The exterior is the polarizing issue with this truck. I intentionally made it look post apocalyptic, not pretty. The reasons are two-fold, 1. I back country camp and whitewater boat so I wanted a finish that was rugged and didn't draw attention to the truck; 2. It's easy to repair when damaged. It's not pretty but I built it to please me.
The theme carries over to the interior. The door panels are custom molded and finished in Duraback as well as the dash.
If interested I can email an extensive parts list documenting the build (over $23, 000.00 worth of parts alone). The truck is completely sorted out and needs nothing. I've driven it 15, 000 miles over the last 3 years and stored it in a climate controlled garage. I'm selling it to fund an overland build on a 4 x 4 Sprinter.
