This is an original survivor that has been garage kept, never in snow or a car wash. I bought this car in 1991 (second owner) and it has been the best car I have ever owned. It is always parked far away from others in parking lots and gets compliments wherever I go. I personally have changed the oil every 3500 with synthetic Mobil 1. It has never had any body damage and shows like a car with only a few thousand miles with a couple of bug or stone dings. The rubber front bumper has been refinished twice in 28 years and the rear once (no accidents). They seem to be prone to chips and fading as most of you who are familiar with this amazing car know. The targa top was refinished recently as well. It had some minor checking in the paint. I think the heat from the sun is amplified thru the back glass when in the stored position. I had that back glass tinted to avoid that in the future. It matches perfectly and you would not know if I didn't mention it. The head gasket issue that every one of these encounter was done by a Toyota dealer mechanic with only Toyota parts in 2009. I have the dealer receipts as well. Some items that were recently replaced are battery, starter, complete exhaust, Brembo brakes, A/C upgraded to new refrigerant type (with new compressor, expansion valve, and hoses) All except for the battery replaced original parts that were still working including the A/C. The only items I can think that are not OEM are the tinted side and back glass, remote security system with lock/unlock, a high end professionally installed CD/radio with two amps built into spare tire well and large bass speaker. With the top down the original radio was totally inadequate and had no CD. The new one was over $2500, built into dash with amp controls that look factory, and an awesome set up without altering the look. Yes, it has the ABS brake option as well.
I retired recently in Ohio, moving to Arizona. When in Ohio this car was only used for summer vacations and Sunday rides. It was never a primary vehicle. It was always garaged and on a Battery-Tender. The pigtail is still on the battery for quick hook up should you want it. For the past twenty years I had planned to drive this more often after retirement. What I didn't plan on (and I guess no one should) was declining health. I lost my better half to cancer this past year and due to a number of my own health issues related to arthritis, back and neck issues I have trouble getting in and out of the car as it sits so low.
I have the clean Ohio title and CarFax in hand. Please contact me should you have any questions. It drives smoothly at any speed and perfectly straight. I understand I may not get what it truly is worth and want to be fair. That said, I also know what they go for in this shape so please understand this is not a distress sale. I'll just keep in the garage and drive it occasionally before I give it away. I will be driving it periodically so it may have more mileage at the auction's end. It will be advertised locally so I have the right to end the auction early. Sorry for all of the disclaimers but I just want to be fair so I don't waste your time or mine.
