Up for auction a car FOR RESTORATION. The car Piggott, in the book ORIGINAL TRIUMPH TR2/3/3A, described as the TR3 Lemans. What probably should have been badged as the TR2A, the first 3 thousand TR3's retained almost all of the features of the 2. And except for a more stylish grille, the scuttle vent and the Lemans head engine, the early 3's are identical to the short door TR2's. Save the long door cars, these are the rarest of the side curtain TR's and a definite conversation piece at any British cars and coffee. This particular car has been off the road and garaged for decades and will be sold with a clean ('57) title. It has a good solid frame. The body is in primer over metal with no surprises. It is a very worthy project that I am just not going to get to. So here is an opportunity to own a limited numbers car. Nose section is near perfect and only one fender has any rust. The original inner and outer rocker panels are in tack and in very solid condition, but new outers will come with the car. Rear valance and spare tire well are in very good condition as the pictures show. New replacement floors are also included. New and original Lockheed brake master, new wheel cylinders and flexible lines also come with it. The car is a very worthy project, with nearly all captive nuts and original bolts present, a plus only true TR builders can appreciate. No attempt has been made to start the engine, it turns freely. The Lemans head is on the engine, but will need crack repair. I own 2 others of these and the gear box shifts as smoothly as the running cars. The car rolls easily. Interior pieces include seat frames and proper side curtains and hardware. There are many model correct parts the have remained with it. The car is pictured with a factory steel hardtop, which is included only if the car is purchased with the Buy It Now bid amount. The hard top has a new, in the box, rear window. The car is sold as is where is, with no guarantees or warrantees implied or given. An enthusiasts project.
