Barn Find 1959 Triumph TR3
Previous owner purchased 20+ years ago with intentions of restoration
Engine was removed and disassembled,
Car was Disassembled and some sanding and body work was started
Comes with everything in the pictures except the trailer it sits on
Body Description - i have restored a couple of TR3's so know where to look and what to worry about most, the rear of this car is solid, the rear quarters were the bumper overriders come through the body are still solid, the spare tire area is still solid, the truck is ok, and the rear quarters are solid, there is some rot in the dog legs in from of the rear wheels by the doors, very typical for a TR3, the floors have some holes in the front corners and by the passenger side seat belt attachment, the front inner fenders look good, and the firewall is solid, the outer rockers will need to be replaced, but the inner rockers appear to not have rusted through,
Engine Description - its stuck, has most all the parts less carbs which are easy enough to find. this is a wet liner engine so every easy to rebuild, pull the liners, either heat out the old pistons and rebore or drop in new liners, new mains and rod bearings, new rings and a new head gasket and away you go, the head is there but has a damaged rocker mount stud, again source a replacement or it has already been machined to take a bigger stud,
Interior Description - most of the gauges and switches are there, the steering wheel is there, and one seat frame, no keys, lost to time, but easy enough to replace, will need a complete refit, but most of the expensive parts are included,
Brakes and Axle - drums were pulled to make it roll, and the brake calipers are there but will need a rebuild, brake master, pedals and res are all there,
this is a 90% complete car, much more than i started with on my first tr3
