for sale
Price: US $1,000.00
Price: US $1,000.00
1968 GT6+, Mk2, 2 door, coupe, fastback.
The color
is yellow. The original color of the car was, code 19, new white with, code 11, black interior.
The engine
is a 2 liter, 1998 cc inline 6 cylinder push rod with twin Stromberg carburetors. The factory specs indicate it put out 104bhp @ 5, 300rpm with 117.3lb ft @ 3, 000rpm. The alternator is missing.
The engine number
is KD50387E, which is consistent with Triumph not matching engine# and the chasis#, but getting close. The numbers are only 37 away from each other. See attached photos.
The engine does not run,
but turns over easily with a battery hooked up.
The transmission
is not included. Since there is no O for overdrive at the end of the chasis# the car was most likely came with a 4 speed transmission. The drive line is included. It has been disconnected to allow the car to roll easier for transport. A common upgrade to these cars is to add a Toyota W58 5 speed transmaission from a Supra or Lexus CS300.The interior
needs completely redone. The car has an aftermarket steering wheel possibly Grant. The seats are there but need reupholstered. There is no carpet and the rear panels are all missing. The black headliner is there, and in surprisingly good condition with a few seams pulling apart. The wood dash is in good condition and the only switch not there is the headlight switch.
The body
and paint
are in poor shape. A tree branch landed on the hood, caving in the power bulge.
There is rust.
The battery box has rusted forward, the rear apron is rusted through at the seam and the drivers floor has rusted through in places. You can see the floor under the seats are good as is the passenger side floor, which is holding water from a wash. The brakes
are stock with the 9.7 disc in the front and 8 drum in the rear. The suspension
is stock 4 wheel independent, coil springs in the front and leaf spring in the rear. The rear drive axles have the rotoflex doughnut joints.
The steering
is stock, manual rack and pinion.
The wheels
are painted 13x 4.5 steel wheels.
The tires
are radials tires and the front ones look nearly brand new Toyo's.The history
of the car is incomplete. The serial number indicates the car was the 350th GT6+ built. It has the rear defrost window with vertical lines, left overs from the GT6 Mk1. You can also see the front chin/spoiler has diagonal slits on either corner. Thats also left overs from the GT6 Mk1, which had lower bumpers, with brackets through those diagonal slits.
The speedometer
reads 98, 242 miles, but the exact mileage is unknown.
The location
of the car is Seabeck, Washington, just west of Seattle.
The shipping
of the car is the responsibility of the buyer from its current location.
Payment is
$500 deposit within 48 hours and the remaining balance due within 7 days of the sale. The sale is final and the as is, where it is.
