Having lost a storage space where I kept six of my favorite collector cars, I am down to selling one that is really going to hurt. This is one of the happiest, fun Triumphs I have ever owned, and I have had quite a few. My TR4A IRS drives like a dream. I have owned it for about five years during which time I overhauled the engine, and took it down to the IRS chassis which is rust free, very solid and in excellent condition. This car has no rust anywhere, and has enjoyed a complete repaint in its original color which I believe is called Sapphire Blue. The rockers, floors, trunk, frame rails etc are all in outstanding rust free condition. I have never pulled a Heritage Certificate on the car, but have some pictures of the original owner with the car in the early seventies and we got it right. The car has the LO suffix but is NOT fitted with an overdrive transmission. This is easily remedied if desired, but the gearbox is so nice and the car drives so sweetly, I hesitate to mess with it, even for an overdrive. Obviously on assembly I did the front suspension, all hydraulics new including calipers, cylinders, clutch master and slave, etc. New clutch, starter, Full new wiring harness, and the carburetors, wiper motor, fuel pump etc were all rebuilt and a new water pump. Many TR4As had Stromberg carburetors but this one has SUs which are much nicer and perform very well. ALL the gauges work, and the car is a pleasure to drive. It has a brand new radiator, mounted without an engine driven fan, and is cooled by a large electric fan which keeps the car quite cool in stop and go and can be switched off on the highway. The exhaust system has all been replaced and done to a very nice quality with fresh dual chrome tips. The sound is delightful, and not overly noisy. The original AM radio works; the car has all its sun visors in xlnt condition, and a new Talbot style side mirror. The paint was done to a very high standard about two years ago and looks fabulous. The seats were all redone and the car has the rare back seat as well as new carpet throughout, new dash top and crash pads, and refinished original wood. It has a really nice Hartz Stayfast Canvas top which does not wrinkle and always looks so pretty and snug, and also its correct Tonneau full cover, and the convertible top down cover or boot cover. All five wire wheels are in wonderful shape, and an excellent spare and four Brand New radial tires. The eared style knock offs are also beautiful new ones all around. This car was just recently at the west coast Triumph show with a good 300 miles of driving put on it during the week, and has made many other long trips with delightful and trouble free results. Its just a happy car; not a fussy car, and one that a new owner can do little things to and make better and better. Its been in California most of its life, and has very nice chrome bumpers and lighting fixtures which all work well. The glass is all clean and clear, the full carpeting is new and the windshield rubber surround, and frame to body are all new as are the door fuzzy seals. Lots of money spent that I wont get back but a great car for someone. Reserve very reasonable and great support for transportation or otherwise. Ask questions or for any other pictures.
