Up for bidding is a 1969 Triumph Spitfire Mk III. This is a true auction with an opening bid of $.99 and no reserve. I have a good clear title & the Hawaii plates are in storage, meaning there is no back taxed or extra fees for the car registration. Car is a Honolulu, HI. Has all the gauges, the speedometer has 65K mileage. Mechanically this Spitfire it all there. It even comes with a RARE steel hard top as shown. Parts alone it is worth $$.
It is a project car, that has potential. I saved this car from being crushed because it is mechanically complete, it has a solid base for a restoration, or whatever you choose to make it into: a vintage race car, get it running & drive it as it is, or better yet rat rod. The main thing here is saving one more little British car from destruction.
The prior owner looks like they did some work on the right door upper area. I was hoping to restore it, I added a new fuel pump and got the engine running but other projects got in the way, so mechanically it can run again.
It looks like the frame straight and undamaged. As can be seen by the pictures, the body has the usual rust areas with some bad rust areas (trunk lid, lower inner trunk/rear lower valance, left side rocker, left side front of the windshield, the floor (over all is solid but) has a couple areas, right side rocker upper area (small area), hard top has some on lower area). I did not do any body work (or bondo) is what you see is what you get, nothing is hidden.
The both doors are showing are all solid with no major rust, the hood is solid with only a few small lower bad areas. Right door is solid though it looks like the top part had work done from other owner. There is minor surface rust in a number of places on the body. Interior has both glove boxes, both doors have the door panels, has rear panel, has both seats (not mounted), has a radio (not installed), no carpet. This auction includes 2 tops: the steel hard top as is shown & the old soft top & frame (soft top shows its age back window is yellowed). Two of the tires hold air (R front & L Rear), & other 2 are bad. *(Will include 4 'like new' un-mounted tires, see below.) The engine has the progressive weber carb with the adapter intake manifold. I had a Spitfire Mark II before that had worst rust than this and I body worked & got it going & running. The photos show all the parts that come with the car. What you see is what you get, except for the extra bonnet (soft convertible top) & frame in trunk.
If you win this bid, bring a trailer & some time to pull it out, & take it away. Currently covered in yard. Like I said it is a true auction, if you win at .99 cents, it's yours & I am happy to give it to you. It's like getting it free & all you have to pay to trailer it a way. For the price you can't go wrong. The parts alone will pay for it self.
Looking for local buyers only, it is very important that you have to be ready to take the Spitfire away, within two days after the bid closes (auction end date), or at the latest on May 30th *(& as a bonus I will include & 4 extra 'like new' tires.)
If you are unable to do so by the that date May 30th, I'll have a local tow company remove the car from my property at your expense. I will be forced to charge towing, & unfortunately you will have to pay the storage fees from the storage yard to pick your car up.
