For sale is my 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500. This vehicle is in great shape and has lots of recent work done to make it very reliable and a sound vehicle. The engine was rebuilt at about 79, 000 miles, it has new interior, new dash panel, front end has been rebuilt with new bushings, tie rod ends, shocks, new brake rotors, new radiator, new clutch and components, new exhaust, new flywheel, much of the electronics have been gone through and everything works great. When I had the transmission and clutch work done I also replaced the tunnel that goes over the tranny. The original is made of cardboard and I replaced it with the thick PVC tunnel so it helps to reduce road noise and also heat transfer. The new tunnel was just a bit larger than the original so the mount for the radio which mounts under the dash and over the tunnel does not fit back into the space. I am having it modified a bit so it will fit back into its original location. The radio is not the original and is upgraded to include a plug in for mp3 or other similar hand held music device. There are also two new speakers in the area behind the seats where the convertible top is stored. It also come with the original spare tire and tool kit in the trunk. I bought this car for my daughter but she can not get the hang of driving a stick shift. This is a very easy car to drive and it is also a true kick to drive. I would keep it for myself but I have other projects and vehicles that need attention. All the work has been done so this beauty is ready to be a daily driver or for that cruise to the coast with the top down. This car was originally from North Carolina but has a clear California title and has passed smog in California. The tags were just updated April 2015 so the are good for a year. Check with Hagerty, as this car does qualify as a classic and is actually pretty rare and you will find they are going for about $13, 000 in excellent condition. I would say this one is between good and excellent so you can do the math, check out the pictures and if you need pictures of something specific please let me know.
Payment information should follow Ebay rules on vehicle purchases. I will require $500 deposit from winning bidder within 24 hours of the close of the auction and the remainder in case upon delivery or pick up in person. I will not entertain and third party deals so please do not ask. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder and I will assist in any way possible. In the case of shipping I will not release the vehicle unless funds for the purchase have cleared the bank ( such as cashiers check).
Buyer is responsible for completing all of the necessary vehicle transfer requirements within the time required. I will be sending a Release of Liability to DMV withing 24 hours of delivery.
I also have this car for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early if the car sells locally.
