Triumph TR-6 (1971)
for sale

Price: US $750.00

Description:

This is becoming a joke! Please read all the notes carefully. This will be the 3rd time I have listed this car. The first time, it did not hit my $2500 reserve but the bidding went to $1850. I contacted the high bidder, he wanted me to wait for his disability check to arrive. I emailed and spoke with him on the phone. I convinced him that this was probably more of a project then he was expecting. His budget for the purchase and restore was $4-5000. I relisted it at a lower reserve and some of the original bidders began bidding. Eventually the winning bidder $1225.00 tried to scam me into sending a money order to the shipper. He claimed, in broken English, that he was an oceanographer and he was on sea. So I am going to try this one more time. I have offers locally for $500. The following text is from my original listing.
I took possession of up this car in-lew of unpaid storage fees at our mini warehouse location. It has been here for 15 years. The owner passed away and his family had to vacate the 3 units he was renting. The car has plates on it from 1984.
The engine does not turn. The following notes are from previous listings.
I will be as open and honest as I possibly can. I retired vintage VWs for years and am familiar with what this car is worth and believe it is a good starting place for a restoration. Yes it will be a lot of work, but you gotta start somewhere. I have had a ton of messages on this and tried to answer as well as I could. I have gotten leads on where to get engines and frame restoration parts. I will do my best to share the info.

I may adjust the eBay posting to reflect the newest info and the reserve. I do have the title signed by the owners widow and a death certificate. I intend to take them to the DMV this week and get a completely clear title in my name. It will cost me $80.00
The car is complete it has some rust issues as you would expect on a car stored for over 15 years in an unheated storage. The rockers are intact but the back sides do have some holes. The doors open and close fine. The biggest issue, I found today while removing it from the storage unit, is the left rear wheel suspension A frame? was detached detached from one of two points at the frame. a short section, approx 14, of square tube detween the rocker and inner frame rail will need to be replaced. I have installed a temporary bracket to support the A frame for transport.
I found the key to the trunk but none of the keys I was given work in the ignition. Also, the cable to the front hood latch is broken so I need to figure out how to get the hood open. I intend to pull the plugs and examine the cylinders with my bore scope. I highly doubt the engine will turn by hand or the starter.

I got the hood open today, 4-9-16, the cable is broken but I put the car on jacks and reached up from below to release the latch. It was while I was under the car I found the starter is missing. I tried to remove the reserve of $700.00 but could not because there are bids on it already.
