Up for auction is my friends 1970 Triumph TR-6. The car has the rare factory overdrive transmission option, is a true numbers matching car and comes with a hard top. This is a running driving project car and what you see in the photos is what you get. I will make every effort to detail everything about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. Heritage: This is a true numbers matching car and I have ordered the British Heritage Certificate from England and I'll have it sent to the new owner when it arrives. The cars commission date was July 1970, commission number is CC 55881 L O, engine number is CC 55940 E and the body tag number is 56036CC The paint code is #17 Camdon Red and the interior trim code is #11 black.
Mechanicals: The car runs and drives but should have a complete going over to ensure safety and road worthy ness. Car starts right up with no smoke or engine noises. There is some noise from the transmission but it goes away when the clutch peddle is depressed or when you engage the overdrive. Overdrive: Yes this car has the rare and highly sought after overdrive transmission.
Gauges. The gauges are all correct Smith brand.
Interior: IS in need of a complete restoration as seen in the photos. The car does come with a brand NEW high quality in the box carpet kit ( cost $400 ). Note the seats are not bolted down at this time. Exterior: The car shows well in the photos and presents herself well in person. The body is laser straight with no dings or dents. Again, what you see in the photos is what you get. Soft Top: The car has a soft top and soft top frame but the canvas on the top will need to be replaced. Hard Top: Yes the had top shown in the photos does come with the car. Trunk: The trunk is rock solid. Note: the car is presently running on an auxiliary fuel tank as the original tank should be cleaned prior to use. Underbody: The underbody is in good condition and the frame looks very good. There is some rust starting on the passengers and drivers floor board. Reserve Price: The reserve is set a low $5000 Overseas Bidders: Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders. In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or the extra photos I have available please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see and drive the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives.
