Price: US $7,100.00
Offered for sale with NO RESERVE is a rust-free, accident-free, numbers-matching, 1971 Triumph TR6 with only 80K original miles in great mechanical and cosmetic
condition. I purchased the car from a southern California owner where it has been most of its life. It was owned by a collector who restored it several years ago. My intention was to do a complete restoration keeping it as original.as it is now. However she is beautiful as she sits today. It needs nothing. It drives great. People love this car and it gets a lot of attention driving down the road. It really stands out with the gorgeous signal red paint. Great acceleration, shifts smooth, sounds awesome as Triumph's do. The interior is perfect, all lights and instruments work. I love this car but have other projects that are a priority at the moment. The pics are an accurate representation of the car. Let me know if you have any questions. Below is a little background on the Triumph sports cars in the event you are not familiar. Let me know if you have any questions. You can email or call. In its day the
Triumph TR6 was equivalent to the modern day Corvette. The TR6 design was enhanced by Karmann, the German coachbuilder. He redesigned the front and rear ends of the TR6. It streamlined the body style of the TR4 which was introduced in 1961 which was designed by Giovanni Michelotti, and evolved into the TR5 and TR250. They were the transition cars between the TR4 and TR6 and were produced for a very short period between 1968-1969 and introduced the 6 cylinder engine to the line. The TR6 is an attractive, fast and very enjoyable
two-seater. It's fine performance, good road handling and reliability, plus its
sheer character, make it a sports car which is a joy to drive and own. Many saw
the TR6 as the last of a unique breed of British sports cars, and replaced the Austin Healey 3000, which had ceased
production in 1968. The Triumph TR6 came standard with rack-and-pinion
steering, 15-inch wheels and wide tires for its day, disc brakes up front, pile
carpet, bucket seats, and a full compliment of instruments set in a wooden
dashboard.
With its original 2.5 liter six-cylinder, twin-Stromberg carburetors mated to its original close-ratio, all syncromesh 4-speed manual transmission
in a package weighing under 2200 lbs., this TR6 delivers sweet-revving, spirited performance and a very musical exhaust note. The semi-trailing independent
rear suspension has a natural tendency to squat under power which
only adds considerably to the sensation of the jack-rabbit acceleration from
a standstill. With its large 15 wheels, long final gearing on its 4-speed
manual transmission, comfortable seats and generous trunk space, this TR6
cruises effortlessly with two passengers and their luggage at freeway speeds.
