1976 Triumph TR-6 Great running and good looking car. Needs new home. A few months ago a long time customer brought in this TR-6. He owned it since 2004 and hadn't driven it in a few years. His intention was to fix it up so that he could start driving it again. He spent about $2, 500 to get the car running right. This work included 2 brand new redline tires, carburetor overhaul, valve adjustment, differential mounts replacement, new timing chain and timing gears, brake servicing, ignition system work, and more. . Everything that you would have to do to get a car running after it sat for a couple of years. The car now starts and drives wonderfully. The engine pulls strongly and the gearbox shifts smoothly. Overall a very nice driver.
The next step in the process was to repair the rusted (see picture) chassis trailing arm outriggers (See Moss part number 850-390) at about $80.00 a piece, plus the welding job to install them. After some consideration our customer said that since the car was running so nicely it was time to sell it.
We purchased the car from him intending to do the work ourselves, but since we have so many other big projects stacked up we decided to sell this car as is. So, if you are handy with a welder or are looking for a fun rolling restoration this is the car for you.
This car was painted about 10 years ago but has been indoors ever since. Definitely not a concourse paint job, there are some flaws but it looks pretty good. The biggest problem with the paint job is that the paint shop filled in the rear valence seam and painted over the filler which is now cracking.
A fantastic opportunity to purchase a great running TR-6 for well under market value.
