1972 Triumph TR-6

Triumph TR-6 (1972)
for sale

Price: US $200.00

Description:

1972 Triumph TR6 for restoration or parts. Last registered in 1997 and stored outside under tarp. Here are the good points:
- Mostly complete, lacking Air filters and Ignition wires
- All wheels roll and tires hold air well enough to pull onto a trailer. Spare now on Front Rt flat in pics.
- Frame looks OK and door Gaps are good. Trailing Arm attachments look sound.
- The car is very straight with a nice stance.
- Both doors open and close pretty well and windows roll up and down with decent glass
- Drive train all there. Have not tried to turn engine. Carburetor pistons are free. Trans will go in and out of gear. No O/D.
- Engine Bonnet (Hood) and Front Bumper look OK, Windshield Glass very nice.
- Badging and running lights pretty good, especially Grill Emblem
- Wheel Trim rings and centers look like they will clean up OK.
- Both Seats pretty good, Drivers seat was stored inside.
- Instruments all there and British Leyland AM Radio
- Have original Bill of Sale from Tom Sweeney, Inc of Cincinnati, and Triumph Passport to Service.
- Clear WV Title in hand
Negatives:
- Car was repainted and patched with Bondo in all four fenders, and joints where the fenders attach. All fenders will need repair or replacement.
- Trunk lid is shot, Rear center Bumper is rusted through, Rear Valence needs help.
- Trunk floor has some holes, but can be patched.
- Driver side floor has several holes rusted through and Inner Rocker needs replaced. Passenger floor needs replaced.
- Dashboard needs new wood and interior trim needs replaced.
- Convertible top fabric is missing, and top frame is rusted, needs to be replaced.
- Tires dry rotted, Brakes must be repaired.
- Muffler and pipes need to be replaced.
Summary: Probably a good parts car, especially for someone that wants to drive their TR6 while they use the components from the parts car for upgrading, rebuilding, or cores. Since the frame and door alignment is good, it could be put back on the road as a driver, but it probably would not be cost effective to do a restoration with a lot of new sheet metal.
