This car is ready for either someone with available cash to bring it up to snuff or someone who is looking for a project to undertake at his own pace and pleasure. Yes, the car starts up and the engine runs fine, but here is the truthful lowdown based on a recent thorough look-over by a very qualified mechanic: 1) differential unit is worn out, 2) gearbox main and counter shaft bearings worn, 3) rear axle slip-yoke assemblies need replacing, 4) sway bar links are worn, 5) front crankshaft seal and oil pan gasket leaking, and 6) right rear frame channel is soft in a small area. Other areas that need attention are the soft top (fair condition), dash panel indicators (most are working), and some dash controls (heat, etc.) need adjusting. The body has few road dings and scratches - no rust except for one tiny area. No radio. Now for what has been done over the 18 years that I have had it: 1) carbs rebuilt, 2) seats reupholstered, 4) new interior side panels, 5) new window channels, 6) alternator replaced, and 7) new tires (not red-line). I have more interior and trunk panel kits on hand ready to be installed. That's it! Of course it has had routine maintenance. Why am I selling? Well, getting older is one reason and I'm downsizing my life, and plans to move to a place without a garage, and I just don't drive it all that much - only about 6, 000 miles in 18 years. It came with some of the work now needed when I bought it, and I was going to get around to the repairs, but because I didn't drive it much, I could keep postponing the work. Time has caught up with me. Because of the work needed, my reserve is very reasonable.
