Up for sale is a fully restored, Yellow / Black, 1974 Triumph TR-6 that was garaged kept since new and has no rust. This Triumph received an impressive level one restoration with a sharp eye on period correctness, reliability, modern drivability and perfection of material finishes.
Starting from an excellent condition driver with a recently rebuilt drivetrain, the car received a full restoration and has less than 3000 miles since completion. All the parts on the car are ether new, rebuilt or restored to very high standards of quality. This special TR-6 embodies all of the most desired features, while still maintaining the correct profile and appearance. It has been in a continuing state of restoration, upgrades and refinements since its first stage of its restoration in 2004 by its previous enthusiast owner. On 10-20-2015 it received its final crowning touch, a. beautifully executed show quality, PPG, base coat, clear coat, paint job, performed by the Action Collison Center in Little Elm, TX that I spent $5, 000 dollars for. The high quality paint job is flawless, providing a mirror like reflections at every angle. The paints surface quality also extends to the engine compartment and underside of the car.
The interior is new and has it just received a custom made, Burled Ash dash panel that was stained to match the cars yellow paint. The cars interior is well insulated, it has Dyno-Mat on the floor, tunnel floors and firewall, with factory insulation on top. The TR-6's wood, leather, vinyl, cloth, carpet, chrome, steel, aluminum, glass, plastic, rubber and painted finishes are all near flawless and look new. The interior dash pads are perfect with no cracks, nice black seats, black door cards, black carpet, black rubber Triumph logo trunk mat, black convertible top, black half Tonneau cover, blue custom car cover is also included and are all are in like new condition.
The Triumphs drivetrain is all numbers matching and original to the car and was professionally rebuilt in 2008. The Triumphs transmission shifts flawlessly, giving you perfect shifts every time. The engine has a very nice aftermarket air cleaners, polished aluminum finned valve cover, new Lucus alternator and new Walmart battery. The cars smog ridden, Zenith carburetors / smog pump, were removed and replaced with a rebuilt pre-emissions SU HS6 carburetors, which are more efferent and reliable than the originals. The TR-6 is also running the Protronics, electronic ignition system, hidden in the original distributor. I just replaced the plugs wires, spark plugs, cap, rotor; brake pads. The car received a new duel exhaust with beautiful chrome tips that has a nice intoxicating, baritone sound. The engines compartment has a nice show quality appearance with all new the and restored parts as you can see in the photo. The 2.5 liter Six cylinder engine, will start on the first turn and has no oil leak, 55 pounds of oil presser and runs as good as it looks!
The TR6 IRS system makes the car handle like it is on rails. The cars steering, suspension shocks, brakes, all feels great and perform well in all conditions, like fast corners and extreme and highway speeds. When driving briskly you get very positive feed back to the steering wheel with no unwanted vibrations. The disk brakes stop the car fast and straight with good control in emergency braking until controlled lockup. The car has a nice unused Goodyear Red Line spare tire and new Bridgestone 205-65-15 Petenza tires on new Mini-Lite aluminum wheels.that cost around $3, 000 dollars The TR6 comes with several manuals, records, receipts and a box of spare both new and used parts. The TR-6 has a nice sounding Pioneer sound system with remote and 6x9's in the rear in small boxes. All the cars electrical, gauges, lights, switches, heater fan, wipers, horn, turn signals are in good working order, it will pass a safety inspection. If you are so inclined, you can drive the car anywhere in the United States reliably.
