Description:

Well, it's Christmas again. You have gone through great pains to make sure everyone in your family is getting what they want and there are smiles all around. But what about you? Do you really want more ties, bottles of cologne or Christmas sweaters? No, of course you don't! What you want is a 1976 Triumph TR6! The only response to Why?' is Why not? If that's not good enough for you, here are the chaps from Top Gear to explain why:The Blokiest Blokes Car Ever Built
This wonderful example has been in the care of Speedwell since 2008. It is solid and straight, runs beautifully and handles very crisply. Though this car's exterior paint is not perfect, it shines beautifully and, as you will see, is very presentable with few flaws. There is no evidence anywhere that this car has ever been in a serious shunt (and we feel quite certain it hasn't). Don't miss this chance to own a well loved and maintained example of one of the last great in-line six British sports cars.Over the past 7 years, Speedwell has inspected this car semi-annually and repaired or replaced everything we could find wrong mechanically (Including, all front suspension bushings, new differential mounts and gusseting the differential mounting brackets and a new brake master cylinder). We have installed a new top and helped the owner keep her in road ready condition. The owner's circumstances changed recently and he has decided the time has come for someone else to become custodian of this great car.We recently replaced the windshield (had a chip), gasket and chrome trim. We took apart the distributor, cleaned and lubricated the advance mechanism and replaced the spark plugs, points and condenser. At this time we adjusted the valves, installed a new VC gasket and checked the compression (All cylinders were with 5% of 165). We changed the oil and filter, installed a new water pump (wasn't leaking but impeller felt loose) and filled fresh coolant and distilled water. We also replaced the brake booster with a new one.We went through the carburetors to ensure all was well there, changing the floats, all rubber seals, diaphragms and needle/seats. We changed the rear control arm bushings and spring seat bushings. We removed the fuel tank and had Sims of Lawrenceville boil it out and seal it with Ethanol resistant sealer. Lastly, we found the left inner axle U-joint was bad and replaced that (lubed all the remaining U-joints).Tires Plus installed a new set of 205/70HR15 H rated steel radials and they drive very well while also being extremely responsive. Please follow this link to see many more pictures as Ebay would only allow 24 on this auction: LOTS MORE PICTURESKeep checking back as I will add pictures of the underside as well. The car starts right up, pulls strongly through all four gears, shifts effortlessly, steers smartly and stops perfectly. It really is quite fast and can achieve 80 mph with very little effort. This car can be driven anywhere so leave your trailer at home and come have a fun road trip. Please don't hesitate to email us with any questions or to arrange a test drive and closer look. We are very confident you will love what you see :-)As you can tell from our feedback rating, we take our reputation within the Ebay community very seriously. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!
