Description:

Gorgeous 1971 Triumph TR6 restored bottom up in 2005. I purchased this car from Triumph aficionados in St. Louis in 2010 and they had most of the restoration work done. I contacted the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and received a certified copy of the factory record (see photo) for this car. The original color was Laurel Green, and repainted in Royal Blue. Mileage on this car is 74, 276, but speedometer was not reset when the restoration work was done. Details on the restoration as well as work I have since performed:
Chassis:
Rust-free car. Frame sand blasted and painted/treated, new front end parts installed, new rear tube shock conversion. Polyurethane bushings, new front shocks and springs. Front suspension was reinforced and double-welded to frame in 2014. Sandblasted and painted stock wheels with new S/S chrome rings. IRS rear suspension sandblasted inspected and painted with new bushings and rubber parts installed. Rear hubs rebuilt with new gaiters. Added new rear trailing arms with adjustable camber bolts in December 2010.
Engine:
Engine and head rebuilt to specification in Arkansas back in 2005. Head was removed and shaved to improve performance in 2014. Oil pressure is very good 70psi at idle. New radiator, belts and new water pump. New oil pump. Replaced factory cooling fan with automatic electronic fan equipped with manual power switch. New dual HIF6 Hitachi Carb conversion (fuel float is integral) kit with new linkage etc, chrome covers, chrome K&N air filters, Monza type exhaust with chrome tips (one into two for earlier TR6). New Pertronix electronic ignition (No mechanical points) with new wires, coil and plugs. New Battery and cables.
Drive Train:
Differential rebuilt in 2005. New clutch plate and rebuilt transmission (non-O/D) added in 2013. New U joints and drive shaft refurbished.
Brakes:
New rear brakes, lines and parts with rebuilt associated hardware, new master cylinder with rebuilt front calipers, pads and hydraulic lines.
Body:
Body has been straightened/welded where needed. All panels accurately finished prepped and painted with two part polyurethane for a deep shine. New chrome-plated bumpers front and back. Refurbished exterior lights. New radio antenna. Door handles polished and exterior chrome replaced or buffed out. New door inner/outer and fuzzy seals with S/S door entrance guard. New fuel tank and new all-weather car cover included.
Top:
New top (2010), seals, aluminum strips, webbing, fasteners, snaps, top frame sand blasted and painted the correct color. Original Convertible top boot in good condition placed in trunk.
Interior:
New UK made black vinyl seat covers, the seat frames were sandblasted, and painted, new foam, diaphragms, rebuilt spring and bolsters both seats, sandblasted and plated seat mechanisms, new interior panels with new door surrounds and seals, new fiberglass transmission tunnel and drive shaft interior cover.
Trunk:
New trunk kit with new spare tire cover, spare tire with original rim, jack and handle in trunk, new trunk seals as well. New trunk panels and trunk light.
Dash:
New dash top, hardware and ashtray, new wood dashboard with polyurethane finish, all gauges refurbished and in good working order, OEM steering wheel refurbished. Recalibrated speedometer and tachometer with new cables.
Driving:
True sports car sound and feel with extra power from the large bore HIF6 SU Carbs and sports exhaust. Starts quickly, quiet suspension that’s tight all over and steers correctly. Updated gas rear shocks help the IRS suspension handle cornering and bumps much better than stock.
