Quite a find. .kept in dry storage most of its life, only 10, 000 original miles since new.
Virtually perfect body, floor pan, sills, nose, etc. ..excellent running 1600cc fuel injected engine, new radials, near perfect interior, top, boot cover, chrome, trim, wiring, electrics, new stereo/CD with USB input, heater works well, quiet, refined, really incredible.
Easily cruises at 80+ mph, great steering and ride, comfortable, easy to service and maintain, and in great condition.
As I have been keeping it, at home, and enjoying its delights, have been surprised by some of its characteristics. ..have owned VWs before but never had one like this. Heater has been effective in 20-30 degree driving, top and windows seal up very well. Engine is remarkably quiet and refined...none of the constant 'ticking' noise associated with an air cooled Beetle engine. And performance? Zips around town and is a thrill to blow by another car at 80+ mph. Smooth, quiet, refined, very 'un beetle' as I remember them from earlier days.
For local show use, just about perfect. Four people can go and still have room for director's chairs and a cooler. And as far as attracing attention, have enjoyed inquisitive crowds at supermarket parking lots.
For a 1930s looking classic, its about ideal. Starts instantly, runs perfectly, drives wonderfully, and parts and accessories are incredibly inexpensive.
