At 68 years old, I've decided (with the wife's coaching) to downsize my classic car collection. I have for sale my mostly original, all numbers matching, made in Germany, 1970 VW Beetle with 46, 700 original miles on the original drivetrain. I'm the third owner of this 46 years old restored classic which was in protected storage for over 20 years before the restoration began. The frame up restoration included new floor pans, heater channels, rocker panels and all new seals/weather stripping. The car was repainted the original Royal Red (a supply of touchup paint is included for future use) and I would rate the paint an 8 out of 10 at this point. Other restoration parts/accessories include:
* An original set of the EMPI SprintStar wheels. These are the original steel EMPI wheels that were available as an accessory in 1970.
* New radial tires, including the spare.
* New chrome/cherry wood locking luggage rack recently purchased from California JBugs for $400.00
* New custom fit waterproof car cover
* New front suspension
* New brake lines, wheel cylinders, shoes, drums and master cylinder
* New headliner
* New battery
* Interior upholstery is original and excellent with no rips or tears
* Original WORKING Sapphire radio
* All electrical components work including the lights, windshield wipers, windshield washer, horn and turn signals.
* Engine was just completely tuned with all new Bosch parts (coil, distributor cap, rotor, points, plugs, condenser etc., with Pertronix high performance wires.
* Body chrome is excellent with numerous accessory pieces from Wolfsburg West
* All window glass is excellent and roll down windows work
* Heater and defroster work well (as well as can be expected from a VW Beetle that is)
* Transmission and clutch are excellent
* Orignal owners manual included aas well as a collection of repair/service manauls
* Original keys included
