A very clean and mostly original Ragtop that is located in California, where it has been throughout life. Painted the hard to find VW Anthracite color and taken down to bare metal when professionally sprayed. Interior is clean, nice and needs nothing. After-market radio in glove box with speakers and amp in cubby – plug in iPod, etc.
1641 cc dual port motor rebuilt approx 4, 500 miles ago. Recent new Bosch starter, battery, Pertronix electronic ignition (wow, what an improvement!), valve cover gaskets and adjustment, distributor cap & rotor, NGK plugs, oil change (with filter) and tune up. Stock carburetor. Horn works. The electrical system has been converted to 12V. Systems checked as working well: shocks, clutch, brakes, lights. No signs of rust; no prior repairs. Good newer tires on straight, stock rims. Odometer reads 81K.
It runs very sweet; a delightful driver. It runs and drives perfect on freeway and in town driving.
