I have made up my mind that it is time for someone else to enjoy my bus and hopefully it goes to a good home.
The bus is an original paint 1965 walk thru Kamper Kit and I am the second owner of the car. I purchased the bus back in August of 1999 in North Park San Diego from the original owners where it had resided its entire life until that point.
The wood interior is all original and the rear seats have their original upholstery.
When I got the car the front seats and door panels were shot, so I had a little fun with the front interior. The steering wheel is original and has no cracks. The paint on the dash is also un touched. I swapped out the speedo for an NOS KM one and still have the original.
The car has been mildly lowered and has a freeway flyer with a straight axle kit with notched spring plates. The frontend was completely rebuilt and narrowed 4 inches by George over at the butchershop!!
The engine is a 1600 DP with elec ignition. The car has been converted to 12 volt. And has a 12 volt gas gauge but the wiper motor is still 6 volt.
The bumpers are original to the car and I still have the original white front emblem. The chrome one is also and original as are all the other deluxe bits I have installed on the car. Got all that stuff back when you could still find splits at the wreckin yards in Otay!
The side mirrors and arms are polished stainless ones by flat four. The safari windows are izzies and also polished stainless. The drivers side glass is cracked from messing with the window while driving and can be swapped out quite easily.
The full length westy rack is also polished stainless by creative engineering and I had the mahogany slats machined by a local cabinet shop. Had to have a full length west for longboards!
This is a black plate car with the original dealer frames.
The bus also comes with its original tent and poles. Green and white with the awning and side curtains. This bus has been my surf wagon for 15 years
