1986 Vanagon Westfalia Weekender (Multi Van). Near mint survivor. 140k original miles. Original window sticker, books, manuals, and records. Factory A/C. This van has been meticulously maintained and garaged since new. The Previous owners only used the van as a RV for camping, hence the low miles. Relatively rare weekender model. One key fits all locks. Manual transmission. Absolutely 100% rust free, no seam rust. Full window out high end paint job. The interior has been professionally reupholstered. The original pop top canvas is in excellent condition. This van has been garaged since new, no really garaged since new...
Motor and Transmission- Complete top end rebuild at 102k miles ($1, 400, have receipt). Brand new water pump ($648, have receipt). The water cooled 2.1 liter runs perfectly. Fresh complete tune up including but not limited to fuel filter, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter, and oil change. New, radiator, alternator, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, input shaft seal, muffler and ignition switch. The motor runs like a sewing machine, the transmission shift crisp and precise. The steering is tight, brakes are good.
Interior- The interior is in mint condition. The seats are comfortable and have been professionally reupholstered with all new seat padding. Both front seats, rear fold down bed, and jump seat have been reupholstered. The headliner, interior cabinets, curtains, dash, and carpet are in excellent condition. There are four seat belts in back including the jump seat. There is a sink and faucet with a built in holding tank and drain that is easily removable. The sink/cabinet was built by a professional cabinet maker. The cabinet also offers additional storage.
Paint and Body- Full window out high end paint job ($10, 000). The van was painted about 4 years ago. All windows were removed, the body was completely disassembled before it was repainted. All new window and door seals. New windshield. The bumpers are in excellent condition. Arrow strait body and lines. Very dry van with NO RUST OR SEAM RUST.
Brakes and Suspension. Brand new tires and alignment. The front and rear brakes as well as the wheel cylinders have been recently replaced. New KYB gas shocks and upper ball joints.
Pop Top- The pop top canvas is in excellent condition and looks almost new. The fiber glass top is in excellent original condition as well as the upper bunk cushions. The pop top headliner is perfect with no mildew, mold or stains.
Other- New CD player with remote and USB port. Factory A/C. Heavy duty deep cycle auxiliary and main battery with power inverter (12 volt to 110) and solar control panel. New heater cables. The van also comes with its original detachable front windshield curtain, jack, skylight cover, sky light screen, and bug screen. Yakima roof racks. New VW mud flaps.
The original owners took excellent care of this van. This is one of the nicest Vanagons on the market. This is a no story rust free low mile survivor that has been well maintained and cared for its entire life. The van needs nothing and is ready for cross country driving or camping adventures.
