1965 VW Transporter TYII 11 Window Restoration Project
I've owned this Alabama project for the past 10 years where it has been continually garaged under my sterwardship. Original Sealing Wax Red/Beige paint. This bus has never been repainted and is in the original patina. The nose has never been hit or dented. No rust through on the exterior body making this an ideal candidate for a patina restoration. I've carefully made sheet metal parts with a goal of minimally removing the original product. I've only removed rusted metal where there's rust through rather than replacing larger sections to retain as much of the original bus intact. I have not welded these fabricated parts in place, but have temporary fasteners holding them in place. I would recommend full replacement of the forward floor and the R/H cargo floor.
Frame is perfect.
Brakes might work but recommend full replacement.
Tires are scrap and sometimes hold air for a ~day, some longer...
Engine has significant end play and is probably from a TY I VW.
If you don't see the part in the pictures it is not included. You get nothing more or nothing less than is in the pictures. Don't ask about other parts and inspect the pictures carefully for what you're Buying/Not Buying.
Project comes with the Bill-of-Sale from Alabama from when I bought it in 2006 and a Bill-of -Sale from me from Connecticut. Don't worry...this never left the garage in winter and has never seen salt.
