It's back! - Auction #2 Here's a couple things I have learned from the last auction that I'll pass on. First off I had a link to the wrong van for the walk around on the last auction. Sorry about that, not helpful. The link below is the right one! This Syncro does not have locking differentials. It has the bomb proof viscous clutch. No ACI did request a title history from the state of Idaho, which we didn't have for the last auction. We now have a scan of the title history from the state. The first Idaho title was issued 11.24.87 to the same name as the current title. There was a new title issued in 1996 with a slight name change and they added the word trust to the owners name. I don't know why Auto Check only picks up records from 1996 on. With the original owners name in the owners manual and the title history we feel very sure that it is a one owner and we know for a fact it's lived in Idaho at least 11.24.87 on wards.
Records - No records came with the Syncro. This was mechanic owned and he did his own services. You are welcome to order a independent inspection through out the bidding process. Our mechanic Wolfgang did do some work on this Syncro for his buddy a couple years back and not many miles ago. He did put in new CV boot, did a full tune with new rotor, plugs and plug wires. He checked the compression and came back with strong and consistent pressure on all cylinders. The van shifts easy and runs out very well. Sorry no records but this van has amazing ownership and has benefited from exceptional care. If you are looking for a very original and well sorted Syncro, this is that van.
On the camper van operation video we stated that the fridge doesn't work. We did get it cold with shore power. I'm not sure about propane. The clicker for the pilot light doesn't work and I'm not sure how to manually do it. Perhaps it works but I have only cooled the fridge by using shore power.

Check out this One owner Westfalia Syncro van. Owned by an engineer who lovingly cared for this van. Rust free, lived in Idaho's high mountain desert it's whole life and garage kept. It has seen 166, 766 miles but you wouldn't know. This Westy is as complete as it gets even down to the factory screens. Good luck finding a single item that shows signs of major use. Incredible for its age and mileage. The exterior is rust free and 98% of the paint is original. All of the glass is free of chips or scratches and the rubber that surrounds it is not weathered. All of the exterior lights and interior lights work. The fabric top is in great shape with no rips or tears and free from mold or mildew. The passenger side mesh screen does have two micro tears that have been repaired with glue. The interior functionality is to factory condition with the exception of the refrigerator which doesn't seem to be chilling. But the propane burner works as does the sink. Both of which are very clean. Note the factory looking aftermarket heater by the bench seat. The front seats swivel with ease. There are no odd odors in the van and there is very little dust in the cabinetry. There is an electronic kill switch for added security. Mechanically this Van is sound. Being owned by a German engineer this van is leak free and fully functioning. All of the bushings and axle boots are un weathered. We had new Grabber A/T tires installed which are a perfect fit for the AWD system. Hop in this Syncro and head to the beach, snow, or the mountains and be self sufficient.
