This is your chance to own a beautifully maintained, OEM standard, low mileage, clean 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio with an automatic transmission. The car is in great condition for its age and is in much better condition than most VW Cabrios for sale.
The car is lightly used by me after I purchased in 2011 as a station and beach car. I am the second owner. Daily mileage is typically under 4 miles a day. It is very zippy and quite fun to drive in the spring and summer with the top down. If I could keep this car I would, although it is not very practical after recently having a baby so it unfortunately (for me) has to go. It needs more love than I can give it.
The Good:
I brought the car to the body shop almost a year ago and they fixed a majority of the road rash on the front-end, scratches, dings, and even the rust.
Light tan leather interior with no rips or tears.
Front windshield was completely replaced after I bought the car.
Original Dark Blue convertible top that is in excellent condition. Push button open and close. Rear window defroster. We sourced a used leather boot, which we will include to cover the folded top.
A/C and heater work well
Car comes with WeatherTech floor mats (original floor mats in fair to poor condition stored in the trunk)
The Bad:
Check engine light is on. If you are familiar with this generation VW, you are probably aware that the check engine light is very finicky. It is on because of the secondary air pump.
Even though the car was only at the body shop almost a year ago it has accumulated a few rock chips on hood and some small dents from car doors.
Power windows (windows go up and then go back down by themselves when you press the button, but if you press up and stop then press it again it goes up)
Power door locks (alarm has been disabled because it failed, so no keyless entry)
Rubber antenna grommet needs to be replaced.
Car has had regular synthetic oil changes and NY inspections. Comes with a the OEM 6 CD changer in trunk (never used by me) and a cassette player that functions very well.
