I picked up this Lago Blue rabbit last year for use as a commuter and a means to learn about diesels. My needs have changed (less commute, more OTR - getting a Sprinter) and it's time to move on.
102, 247 miles. Inland Oregon car since birth. Surface rust only.
The car skipped timing about a month ago. My mechanic replaced the belt and did a basic reset, but the vehicle still sputters and smokes (white). This is to say it runs, but does not drive well. This being the case, the auction is an AS IS deal with no warranty expressed or implied.
Ok, on to the good. In the last 1500 miles I've replaced, repaired or changed:

The previous owner installed a straight pipe and it's throaty. He also lowered the front end. The effect is sporty and responsive. This rabbit hugs the road already, but will be even stickier when the sway bars are installed. I was averaging 35 mpg with current tuning. When the ignition is reset (which will need to be done), you can get better mileage or keep the same power.
The Fuzion Touring 195/60R14 tires on VW steelies have lots of tread left. In the mostly uncracked dash sits a Kenwood Mp3 + Aux input deck. All doors have their door cards and open/close/lock. Headliner in good shape (1 tear)All windows go down and up. Front seats are vintage Recaro. All lights, including the interior dome, work. Yakima rack with keys included.Front and rear sway bars (not installed) also included.Haynes, Muir and Bentley manuals included.This is a 35 year old car and a Volkswagon at that. It will want you to work on it. It is what it is. That said, it's been pretty fun for me!
Title is clean. Tags are good until October. Buyer is responsible for pick-up. Car will need to be towed or picked up at my location by a carrier. This auction is NO RESERVE.
