1986 Volkswagen Scirocco with a pretty cool history. Check out driversfound.com /scirocco/ profiles/1986_kim/. This car has been very well cared for. Overall this is one of the nicest Scirocco's I've come across. The body is clean, the interior is very nice.
Specs...
-Fresh 1.8 8v with rebuilt head (JH bottom end with Hydro head), new timing belt, water pump, all new seals and gaskets including head gasket.
-Front and rear European bumper (with headlight washer not connected).
-Techtonics stainless steel exhaust, K&N air filter.
-Neuspeed lowering springs, Factory 16V lower front tie bar, Factory 16V rear sway bar.
-Scirocco 16V body kit.
-White gauge faces, Triple gauge panel (not connected), Corrado steering wheel.
-Very nice Tear Drops with good tires.
-Drilled and slotted front rotors.
-New alternator, radio and speakers.
The engine is strong and has plenty of power. The car runs and drives well and gets lots of attention. I'm sure i'm forgetting a few things so please contact me with any questions. Again this is a very nice car for its age and its a good driver that can be taken to shows, however its not perfect. I commute about 100 miles round trip to work in it a few times a week.
I have provided detailed pics of the cars flaws, however it does looks great in person and these aren't noticeable.

| “The car is in good shape for its age, however being almost 30 years old its far from perfect. The engine runs well however it does idle high at about 1300 RPM's at times (doesn't effect driving). It does have an oil leak from the oil pan gasket (this is a new gasket so I believe tightening the oil pan bolts would solve this issue. The exhaust is in good shape and sounds good however it does have a slight rattle that I believe is from the heat shield. The AC is complete but INOP (a charge might solve this). Power steering pump has been deleted but I will include it with the sale (I like the way it feels without power steering). The car was in a light fender bender and I replaced the hood, fender and bumper. The car looks good and the paint match is great. The odometer stopped working at 160k.” |
